Building Careers That Last
Join Our Team
At NW Fitness Project, we believe in Fitness Built to Last—and that includes building sustainable, meaningful careers in the fitness industry. Whether you're just starting your journey or you're an experienced professional looking for your next home, we offer pathways designed to help you thrive.
We're not just hiring trainers—we're building a community of dedicated professionals who share our commitment to empathetic, personalized training and genuine human connection.
CORE TEAM TRAINERS
Full-time W-2 positions with comprehensive benefits
Our Core Team trainers are the foundation of NW Fitness Project, providing personal training to our growing community of nearly 200 clients and leading our signature small group classes (max 10 people). These dedicated professionals embody our values of High Standards, Low Ego and Human-Powered Change, with an average of 4-6 years of experience in the field.
As W-2 employees, Core Team trainers are fully integrated into our Fitness Built to Last mission. We invest in their growth through ongoing education and certification support, marketing and business development opportunities, plus comprehensive benefits including 401(k) and healthcare coverage. This sustainable career model allows our trainers to focus on what they do best: crafting empathetic, personalized training that meets each person exactly where they are.
independent specialists
Experienced professionals with entrepreneurial independence
We're proud to provide space for experienced independent trainers who share our core values and commitment to sustainable, community-centered fitness. These seasoned professionals (averaging 10-12 years of experience) own and operate their businesses within our training studio, benefiting from our supportive environment while maintaining their entrepreneurial independence.
Our Independent Specialists choose NW Fitness Project because they align with our Person Over Program philosophy and want to be part of an Inclusive Community that values both expertise and empathy. They operate on a monthly rent structure based on part-time or full-time training volume.
Mentorship Programs
At Northwest Fitness Project, we believe in "Raise the Bar, Reach Back Down" – pursuing continuous improvement while ensuring no one gets left behind. Our comprehensive 12-week mentorship programs support aspiring fitness professionals through 50 hours of hands-on training, programming education, and direct mentorship from our leadership team.
We offer two tracks: a paid BIPOC Mentorship Program exclusively for Black, Indigenous, and People of Color professionals, and a General Mentorship Program open to all aspiring trainers. Both programs focus on exercise science application, client relationship building, and business fundamentals while embodying our values of high standards, inclusive community, and person-over-program approach.
Upon successful completion, NWFP reimburses certification exam costs and mentees may be considered for positions on our Core Team.
Building the next generation of fitness professionals through hands-on learning and community support
