NW Fitness Project isn't your average gym — it's a community of expert coaches, curious minds, and humans who care deeply about helping people get stronger, move better, and feel more like themselves.

Founded in Seattle's Fremont neighborhood, we've built a reputation for delivering exceptional personal training and small group strength classes with heart, science, and a sense of humor.

Our mission? To help people create Fitness Built to Last — in their bodies, their communities, and their lives. This is about putting in the work in gym in order to play outside and enjoy your life to the absolute fullest.

Why Choose NW Fitness Project: What Makes Us Different

Expert Trainers, Human Approach: Every trainer is handpicked for their depth of knowledge, commitment to continuing education, and ability to deliver empathetic, individualized training. We're serious about quality, not ourselves.

Person Over Program: We adapt training to fit you — not the other way around. Unlike impersonal big-box gyms, we offer personalized assessments to match you with the trainer that suits your goals, schedule, and personality.

Long-Term Relationships: We prioritize sustainable fitness relationships, not short-term fixes. This is more than training—it's a relationship built on trust and empowerment.

Proven Results: We believe fitness should feel challenging, empowering, and yes — fun. Our approach combines heart, science, and a sense of humor.

Why We Exist: Our Mission

Because fitness shouldn't be another thing that feels hard about your life. We believe movement has the power to transform not just bodies, but confidence, communities, and how people show up in the world.

In an industry obsessed with quick fixes and perfect bodies, we're here to prove that Fitness Built to Last isn't just possible—it's sustainable, empowering, and sometimes even genuinely enjoyable.

We exist to create the fitness experience we wish we'd had: expert guidance without the ego, challenging workouts without the judgment, and a community that cheers for your wins while supporting you through the tough days.

Our Story

We knew there had to be a better way. In 2017, after eight years of working together—first as colleagues, then as independent trainers sharing the same space—Kyle Davis and Matt Holland merged their businesses to create NW Fitness Project. Their dream was simple: build a facility that could be home to the fitness community they'd cultivated and a welcoming space for sustainable, effective training. Eight years later, we've grown from two founders to five owners, promoting from within to create meaningful career paths while staying true to our core values. What started as a desire to do things differently has become a proven model for how fitness businesses can grow sustainably while prioritizing both client relationships and trainer careers.
